Miguel is a record collector, DJ and promoter from Oporto, Portugal who hosts Japanesque, a weekly show for the online station Rádio Quântica. He also collaborates with Chá Camélia to organise Som Cha Do, a special event which brings together Japanese tea, music and pottery. Listeners are invited to lose themselves in the taste of tea, served in handcrafted ceramics made by artist Paul Alves accompanied by serene & soothing sounds from Miguel’s selections.
The mix conjures the strange vistas seen on his Facebook feed, featuring beautiful encounters with architecture and nature. He writes, “it was recorded on a summer night, with open windows and a soft marine breeze, exalting the scents of spicy dunes and dry seaweed. Just blowing away. Far away, as Venus on the horizon.”
